This weekend was my Dad's 64th birthday. So Mom, Wayne, Rhonda and Donna pulled together a cookout after church on Sunday to celebrate with everyone. Dad claims that he must only be 46 now (64 backwards...you are how you feel).
It was wonderful for us all to be together. Its been a busy year so far. Wayne and Tabitha's wedding in only a few months away and Wayne moved out this weekend into his new rental home outside of Reidsville.
But no worries, Mom and Dad still have the furry kids at home (Tuffy, Angel, and Gus)...the biggest yorkies you have ever seen.
Still no sign of the mystery animal...but I still have my eye out for it. This weekend I am going camping with a friend's Junior GS troop. So I found the sleeping bag tonight, my camping supplies and my goal...one small bag...no over packing this time for me :)
Plus we are all super excited...Krispy Kreme is opening in Stanleyville this week...this could be dangerous.
Have a wonderful week everyone! Jerri

Three Years Ago...
Three years ago on March 25, 2006 my life was forever changed when Robert called me for our first date. I had just gotten over a terrible flu-like cold and I knew he had asked for my phone number from our wonderful friends (Steve & Mary).
When he finally called on that Saturday afternoon and asked if I wanted to go out for supper sometime, of course shocking myself I asked "what about tonight?". He met me for supper at Cracker Barrel and I remember playing checkers on the front porch for the longest time, we had breakfast for supper, and then we rented a movie to end our evening. I could have just talked to him all night and instantly I knew that I had met the man I would spend my life with.
I am so blessed to be loved and be in love with such an amazing man. I thank the Lord everyday that he brought us together and than we honor our Lord in our marriage and our daily lives. I couldn't imagine being happier or more blessed than I am today.
May you be filled with love and blessings everyday.

Mystery Animal on Taylor Road
So a few weeks ago Robert was trying to describe this animal that he saw on the side of the road on his way home. He said it couldn't have been a squirrel since it was a blond color. He said it may have been a very small cat or ... we just had no idea. Well Saturday afternoon on my way home it was spotted! Yes we have a blond squirrel in the neighborhood. He was sitting on the side of the road and sticks out like a sore thumb. He was playing with some of his "grey" squirrel friends and I just couldn't believe it.
With excitement I came home letting Robert know that I had to seen the creature and us feeling very special told his family of our find. Well it seems that everyone has seen the squirrel. Now if I can only get Blondy to move down the road a few yards and take up residence in the front yard. I am on a mission to grab a photo of the squirrel and I will be sure to post it for all to see.
Take care everyone and I hope you have a wonderful week.

Our friend Buford
Hello everyone,
I hope you are doing well this week.
Robert and I received terrible news on Monday afternoon (March 9th) that our bloodhound Buford had pasted away.
For those that did not know the story of Buford; he was given to us by a woman in Charlotte that Robert had met while working for Loomis. She was unable to care for such a large dog in the city limits and offered him to us. When we went to pick Buford up he was covered in mud and in a small outdoor kennel. We placed him in the back of the truck in January of 2007 and took him home.
Robert began to nurse him back to health and on our vet's visit only a few weeks later we had learned that Buford had heart worms. He had already won my heart and I remember just crying in the vet's office that Saturday morning. On our way home I cried and cried because he was such a loving dog. We decided to take Buford on his first hike with us to Hanging Rock; who would have known he was sick the way he walked us! We decided to have him treated the following week.
Buford loved Robert's parents and his dad would take him on a long walk everyday and give him his favorite treat...a hotdog! Buford fathered 10 puppies with our bloodhound Daisy in the summer of 2007 and they were beautiful dogs!
We will all miss Buford so very much! He was our furry friend and our baby!

Snow Days
Aren't Snow Days the best - well when you don't have to work they are. We had any where from 8-10 inches of snow. We pulled the sled out and had the best time on Sunday afternoon. Then more snow came Sunday night and with thunder...I think Mom said that means in 8 days more snow...who knows it could happen!

Hello everyone,
We are getting close to the end of February and I am looking forward to Easter just around the corner. We are looking forward to planting in the spring and starting new projects around the house. This week has been a long one and we are ready for the weekend. Did we see Snow this week - YES! On Monday morning Robert was getting ready to head out (at 4:30am) and I thought he was joking but my gracious we had about an inch on the ground. Finally...SNOW! Still not enough to sled down our great hill but I am sure one day :) Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Jerri

Hello everyone,
Well I am new to the blog world but I thought I would give it a try.
Today is Feb 4th and it is Belle's (our yorkie) first birthday. She has grown up so fast but still is very much a puppy. I plan to have a special treat made for her birthday this weekend at this great Dog Boutique in Winston Salem at Hanes Mall. They have the cutest doggie clothes, treats, and everything in between.
This past weekend we have Isaac's 7th Birthday. He had a great party at the Rural Hall bowling alley and we just had a ball with him. Then we went to eat at Mi Pueblo's in King and of course we had the waiters sing to him. It was also Joshua's 18th Birthday! He has also decided that he will attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA next fall. We are all so very excited for him.
We have now been in our new home for 6 months and we have loved every minute. Still no snow in our part of the foothills but I am still hoping; because we have the most awesome sledding hill in front of our house. I can't wait!
FUN FACT - did you know that reading 30 minutes a day will help you prevent lost of memory later in life. And reading out loud for 15 minutes daily even lowers your chances. Pick up your copy of the KJV Bible and see your life changed in more than one way!
Check back soon for more McKinney updates.
Take care,
Jerri
